Don is an internationally renowned expert in the field of complex modulating and co-ordinated control systems for power stations. Don leverages over thirty five years of experience in power plant control systems design, and commissioning including the use of advanced control strategies, benchmarking and tuning.

In April 2017, Don relocated permanently to Chicago, Illinois, to take on the role of President of Provecta Process Automation in the United States.

Don has extensive project coordination experience of control systems for drum and once-through boilers, on both greenfield and brownfield sites, specialising in the commissioning and startup phases of these projects. There is hardly a power station in Australia where Don has not had some level of influence with regard to either their construction, commissioning, or tuning. Don has also provided services to a multitude of international clients in the United States, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, and Vietnam.

Don is a passionate educator, committed to transferring his wealth of knowledge to anyone with an interest to learn. He has developed an advanced training course in power plant operation, control and optimization, and he has delivered this course to many of Provecta’s clients both in Australia and internationally.
