We are pleased to announce that Doosan GridTech has engaged Provecta to design, configure and commission the SCADA and associated OT systems for the Capital Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in the ACT. The BESS project is being constructed by Doosan GridTEch for their customer Neoen, and includes provision of battery systems, power conversion systems, 132 kV Substation, control systems and all other electrical, civil, mechanical and auxiliary plant works.
The battery will be supplied by Chinese battery manufacturer Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited ( CATL) which is one of the major global battery manufacturers.
The BESS will be capable of generating a net 100 MW output with an energy storage discharge capacity of 200MWh into the Transgrid 132 kV network. The BESS will participate in the wholesale energy market including providing frequency control ancillary services (FCAS) and reactive power and voltage control.
It is intended that the Capital BESS will be available for commercial operation from early 2023.
