PROVECTA has recently been engaged by AGL Torrens Island to act as the Owners Engineer on their Torrens Island B Power Station Project Gateway. The primary objective of Project Gateway is to ensure the long term reliable operation of the 4 x 200MW generating units at the Torrens Island B Power Station. This will be achieved through the replacement of existing aged instrumentation and control systems, increased levels of control room operability and automation, and single control room operation. As Owners Engineer, PROVECTA initially assisted AGL Torrens Island in project development investigations, preparation of the specification documents and in tender analysis and negotiations to achieve AGL Torrens Island’s desired results for Project Gateway. The Contract has now been awarded to Yokogawa Australia Pty Ltd. The Contract requires replacement of the existing controls with a modern programmable Distributed Control System (DCS) and the upgrade or replacement of a wide range of instrumentation systems installed at Torrens Island B Power Station. PROVECTA has now further been engaged to assist during the contract delivery period. About AGL AGL is one of Australia’s leading integrated energy companies.
