Background:
Provecta has successfully completed a full control system replacement on a cryogenic facility that is essential for cold neutron-based research at ANSTO, the Australian Nuclear and Science and Technology Organisation. The project involved re-engineering the controls design to suit a modern PLC, provision of PLC hardware, configuration, testing, commissioning, optimisation and training. The new system was delivered on schedule and to budget, with Provecta completing all site commissioning within a highly compressed outage window. ANSTO’s senior scientist responsible for witness-testing the new system, Dr Weijan Lu, reported, “Provecta has shown a high level of competence and professionalism and delivered a product that has surpassed my original expectations”.
