Simon completed his undergraduate studies in Electrical Engineering at the University of Sydney in 1991, achieving the distinction of receiving 1st class honors and the University Medal. As a cadet engineer with the Electricity Commission of NSW, Simon received a wide ranging introduction to best practice engineering approaches whilst working many of NSW’s major coal fired power stations.

Since graduation Simon has gained over twenty five years of experience in control system project using quality management principles from concept to completion including bid preparation, detailed design, application software development, testing, commissioning, tuning and project management.

Simon has particular expertise in the execution of technical investigations, preparing technical specifications, evaluating tenders and advising on contract management. This expertise is backed by his extensive experience in the detailed engineering of numerous vendor’s control system equipment including Schneider Unity-programmed PLCs, Rockwell Automation ControlLogix and GuardLogix PLCs, Schneider CitectSCADA and CitectHistorian, and Wonderware InTouch to name a few.

Simon has broad experience providing detailed consulting services to a range of different clients and industry sectors, including; numerous power generators in Australia, ANSTO Nuclear Reactor at Lucas Heights in Sydney, SCADA services to Country Water in NSW, engineering support for Sem Calaca Power Station in the Philippines, energy management services for the University of New South Wales, review of control system designs for CSG and LNG plants in Qld, control system architecture review for Glenbrook Power Station in New Zealand, and commissioning support for the Prairie State Energy Campus in Illinois and Russell City Energy Centre in California.
